Paducah Tilghman Naval Junior ROTC (NJROTC) conducted the annual Area Manager’s Inspection on November 20 culminating with a Pass-in-Review Ceremony in the Dinning Gymnasium before assembled family and friends.
This year Commander Robinson, the Area 14 Manager, conducted the inspection of the cadets and was the Guest of Honor for the Pass-in-Review Ceremony.
The cadets and drill teams performed in exemplary fashion and the inspection was a great success due to the hard work of the cadets and the outstanding support and flexibility of the faculty at PTHS.

A Celebration of Life service for long-time band director Douglas Van Fleet will be held this Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at the Paducah Tilghman Auditorium and the Doug Van Fleet Band Room from 1-3pm.
Mr. Van Fleet was more than just a teacher; he was a maestro who inspired generations of musicians. With unwavering dedication, Mr. Van Fleet nurtured talent, instilled discipline, and fostered a love for music that extended far beyond the walls of Paducah Public Schools. His legacy will live on in the musicians, band instructors and music aficionados who learned and performed music under his instruction.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Paducah Tilghman Band and Orchestra programs.

Our high school students were in the Philharmonic group under the direction of Dr. Rossana Cauti. It was a fabulous day of learning and music-making!

The Paducah Schools STAY (School + Transition Services for Youth) Program has donated books related to hunger and homelessness to the district's school libraries to help raise awareness about Hunger and Homelessness Month, which occurs in November. The books are being provided through a local grant, said Heather Anderson, the district's McKinney-Vento Liaison who directs the program.
"Our mayor has declared November Hunger and Homelessness Awareness month for the city of Paducah," said Anderson. "We hope the addition of these books to our libraries will encourage students and parents to understand the issues of hunger and homeless more deeply and consider ways that they can help their neighbors who may be struggling."
Paducah Middle School Library Media Specialist Jessica Ringstaff said the library was grateful to receive the books.
" With hunger and homelessness come a diversity of other problems that also get presented in books, so you will have people with different abilities, different backgrounds, different economic statuses, and different health issues presented in these books. So not only is this bringing advocacy to the issues of hunger and homelessness, but also a lot of other issues as well."
