Paducah Public Schools will dismiss one hour early today due to the forecast for snow this afternoon. After-school activities are also cancelled tonight districtwide.

PMS – 1:40 p.m.
PTHS – 1:20 p.m.
Morgan – 2:15 p.m.
Clark – 1:55 p.m.
McNabb – 2:30 p.m.
Choices – 2:00 p.m.
Feeling safe at school helps students and staff focus on learning. Today, we pause to say thanks to the School Resource Officers (SROs) who keep our campuses secure.
The Paducah Public School Police Department in partnership with Paducah Police have sworn law enforcement officers at Morgan, Clark, and McNabb Elementary Schools, as well as Paducah Middle School. Paducah Police Officer Abbott watches over Paducah Head Start, Paducah Tilghman High School and the Innovation Hub.
Each officer also serves as an informal mentor to students encouraging them to keep trying, learning, and growing. We appreciate them!
The Paducah Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting at 5 pm on Monday, February 17, 2025 at the Paducah Innovation Hub, 500 South 25th Street, Paducah.

Congratulation to PT senior Briana Sims! Briana won a design competition sponsored by Rhodes Convenience Stores. Briana's winning design will be used for the wallpaper design at the new Rhodes Convenience Store that will be opening on Clarks River Road on March 11. Representatives from Rhodes dropped by last Friday and hosted a pizza party for Briana's art class, and presented her with a gift in honor of her winning design.

Whitson McNeill has been named the USTA Kentucky Tennis Boys Scholastic Achievement Winner. Congratulations!
Whitson discovered his passion for tennis in elementary school, after attending tennis clinics and decided to make it his primary sport by the 6th grade. His love for the game and determination to improve have defined his journey as an athlete. His hard work led to an invitation to play in Junior Nationals, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, on Team Southern the last two summers.
His passion for both tennis and golf has led him to individual regional titles in both sports. Whitson’s ability to excel both academically and athletically demonstrates his unwavering work ethic and commitment to achieving excellence in every aspect of his life.

PT junior Eleanor Hammonds won first place and senior MacKenzie Patterson won Honorable Mention at the Yeiser Teen Spirit Art Show, which was held in December. Students competed against 365 entries and 114 were in the show. Congratulations!

Good luck to PTHS Bowling as they compete in the regional tournament at Cardinal Lanes this weekend. Team members Jude Willams, Silas Williams, Axtan Cooper, Keaton Thompson, and Jillian Slaughter will be competing in the singles part of the tournament Friday, January 31 and the whole team competes on Saturday, February 1.
