
We're looking forward to having the PTHS Class of '23 seated on our new turf field for the first time for Friday's graduation! The PTHS Class of '23 Commencement will be Friday, May 19, at 7:00 PM at McRight Field. If there's rain, the ceremony will be held in Dinning gymnasium.


Erin Morehead and Victor Bolton were honored with the Whitlow Commitment to Excellence Award at the May meeting of the Paducah Board of Education. Mrs. Morehead teaches the Abilities class at Paducah Tilghman High School. Mr. Bolton is a diesel mechanic with the PPS Transportation Department.
The Whitlow Commitment to Excellence Award was created in 2016 and was named for Mark Whitlow, who retired that year as the board attorney and served as the Paducah Public Schools Foundation president and volunteered for more than 20 years with the Paducah Tilghman High School mock trials team. Whitlow is in the PTHS Hall of Fame. The award honors those who demonstrate similar dedication and service to Paducah schools.



Thanks to the faculty, students, and FNB representative Crystal Balentine from Paducah Middle for their presentation about the “Amazing Shake”. "Amazing Shake" is a competition connected with the Ron Clark Academy to help students learn soft skills. We can hardly wait for next year!


Junior board members CoryOn Brooks and Jayda Reed reviewed their year with the Paducah Board of Education at last night's meeting. CoryOn and Jayda have been a great asset to the Paducah Board of Education. We appreciate their service to the district this past school year and wish them well!


The election for a parent representative to the Paducah Tilghman High School SBDM will be Thursday, May 18. You can vote in the lobby 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Parents of PTHS students are eligible to vote.

Paducah Tilghman baseball plays McCracken County tonight at Brooks Stadium. The Junior Varsity game begins at 4:30 PM. Senior baseball players will be honored between the JV and Varsity games. The varsity game will follow. Go Big Blue!

The PTHS vs. McCracken County (V/JV) Softball game scheduled for today has been postponed due to poor field conditions until Wednesday, May 10. Game time is 6:00 PM.

Paducah Head Start Parents-
All preschool classes will resume as normal tomorrow (Monday, May 8). All maintenance issues have been resolved.

Join us for the 93rd Annual Paducah Tilghman Band of Blue Ice Cream Festival on Saturday, May 13 at 11:30 a.m. in Dinning Gymnasium. Enjoy some delicious ice cream and treats along with performances by the PTHS Band of Blue and the Paducah Middle 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands.

Paducah Tilghman senior Clare Shirk has received a full appointment to the US Naval Academy Prep School and the US Naval Academy. Located in Annapolis, Maryland, the Naval Academy has an acceptance rate of 8%. All students who attend the US Naval Academy do so on full scholarship. In addition to scholarships that Shirk received for NROTC and VMI, her total scholarship offer is $625,000. Congratulations, Clare!


PTHS SEAC (Student Equity Advisory Council) will conduct their final forum of the year on Thursday, May 11, 5:00 PM, at Seaman's Church Institute. The forum is open to the community. The theme of the forum is “Unity in the Community.” All who plan to attend should click on the QR code to register.


The PTHS National History Day team, comprised of juniors Elena Adkins, Liam Black, and Azlyn Goodyke, took First Place in the state this past weekend in the National History Day (NHD) competition held at the University of Kentucky. They competed in the Senior Group Documentary division with their feature, “Keep on Pushing: The Amplification of Music and the Fight For Equality.” Their First Place finish qualifies them for the NHD national competition at the University of Maryland in June.


The PTHS Student Equity Advisory County shared a presentation on DEIB to the Paducah City Commission on April 25. They shared what the program was, the inception of the program, and invited the commissioners to attend the community forum on May 11. They did an outstanding job!
PTHS students interested in applying for SEAC for next year can pick up applications in Tornado Alley and the Paducah Innovation Hub. Applications and videos are due Friday, April 28.


Mr. Kenty was honored by the Murray State University College of Education and Human Services with the 2023 Outstanding Middle School Educator Award. The award was presented on April 25 at the Harry M. Sparks Distinguished Lecture Series. Congratulations, Mr. Kenty!
