EdFest is a one day in-person conference highlighting practicing educators and consultants, who are currently finding success with cutting-edge best practices and research-based methodologies in education.

We want to let you know that start and end times for some of our schools will change in the 2023-24 school year. We believe these changes will contribute to the well-being of our students and help our bus routes move more efficiently.
The longer school day at Paducah Middle School will allow us to offer seven academic periods instead of six. This will help prepare our students for high school. It will also allow additional elective opportunities so students who want to take band, choir and orchestra will be able to take all three classes.
We understand that even small changes to our school schedules deeply impact our community and particularly our families who are juggling multiple work, school and family members’ schedules. We’re grateful for your patience as we implement these schedule changes.

Baseball - Open field for baseball will begin on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday, July 11 at Stuart Nelson Field #2 for rising 5th-8th graders. These sessions will be from 3PM-5PM. Baseball tryouts will be Monday, July 31 from 5:15PM-7:15PM. Students must have an updated KHSAA physical to participate.
Basketball (Girls) - Tryouts for girls basketball will be Thursday, July 13 and Sunday, July 16 from 5:30PM-7:00PM for rising 6th-8th graders at the Paducah Middle Gym. Students must have an updated KHSAA physical to participate.
Cheer - Cheer practices resume 9AM-11AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays resuming Tuesday, July 11. Coach will be in touch for further details.
Football - Practice for football will be held from 8AM-10AM on Monday-Thursday beginning Monday, July 10. Students must have an updated KHSAA physical to participate.
Softball - Softball tryouts will take place Monday, 7/17-Tuesday, 7/18 from 6PM-8:30PM for rising 5th-8th graders. Please wear pants and a t-shirt. Also girls must bring their own glove and helmet. Students must have an updated KHSAA physical to participate.
Volleyball - Girls volleyball will have open gym from 4:00PM-5:30PM on M, TU, WE, F starting on Monday, July 10 for rising 5th-8th graders. Tryouts will be from 7/17-7/19 from 4:00PM-5:30PM. Students must have an updated KHSAA physical to participate.

Former student board members Dasia Garland (PTHS ’23) and Synia Shaw Laster (PTHS ’23) received the Student Board Member Scholarship Award at the June meeting of the Paducah Board of Education. Leadership Paducah is a leadership development program coordinated by the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce. The program is directed towards individuals who demonstrate leadership qualities and exposes them to a variety of topics and issues to better understand our community.
