Paducah Tilghman senior John Kiebler signed a letter of intent to play baseball for Southeastern Illinois College at a signing ceremony held at Paducah Tilghman High School on February 2.
Kiebler began playing for Paducah Tilghman High School as an eighth grader and became a part-time starter as a freshman. He moved positions from SS/2B to catcher his sophomore year and joined the starting rotation for the Tornado. Kiebler is a career .290 hitter. As a catcher he was part of two No-Hit pitching performances (2018 vs Century, IL with Jackson Fristoe and 2019 vs Murray with Justin West). He was named pre-season all-state in 2019 and 2020.
“I’m glad that I have had the opportunity to coach John,” said PTHS Baseball Head Coach Tremayne Donald. “He’s such a student of the game. He plays the game the right way. He takes practice just as seriously as he takes ball games. That’s what it takes if you want to play at the next level.”
Kiebler played for the West Kentucky All-Stars travel team for five years. He played for the Kentucky Prospects travel team for one year.
