Four Paducah Tilghman High School students have been honored by the Paducah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for outstanding character and commitment to high ideals. The students were nominated by Paducah Tilghman High School. Paducah Chapter DAR representatives Cheryl Bendick and Kathie Grassham presented the awards.

Senior Bryleigh Heal was awarded DAR’s highest student honor, the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award. The Good Citizen Award recognizes and rewards seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and communities. Recipients are selected by their schools because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree. Only one senior per school can receive this award each year.

Bryleigh is the daughter of Mandy and Travis Heal.

Junior Nathan Franklin, sophomore Ma’Kel Ridgeway, and freshman Elliott Bidwell were awarded Youth Citizenship Medals for exemplifying the qualities of honor, service, courage, leadership, and patriotism. The DAR Youth Citizenship Medal was established to foster a greater appreciation of the qualities of American citizenship among school-aged youth. Schools and service organizations may nominate one student per grade in grades 5-11.

Nathan is the son of Katrina and Tim Franklin, Ma’Kel is the daughter of Brandy Ridgeway, and Elliott is the son of Anne Bidwell and Jeff Bidwell.
