The Paducah Tilghman High School NJROTC chain of command- Commanding Officer Preston Cruse, Executive Officer Clare Shirk and Command Master Chief Audrey Shirk- attended the NJROTC Area 3 Leadership Academy and Sail Training in June.
130 top cadets sophomores and juniors from more than 55 units in 12 states throughout the Midwest attended the week-long course. The cadets are slated to be the leaders of their NJROTC units in the upcoming school year. Clare Shirk and Audrey Shirk attended the Leadership Academy. Preston Cruse attended the Sail Academy. PTHS NJROTC Lieutenant Commander Daniel Outcalt was the executive officer of the Leadership Academy.
Cruse earned a medal for an event at Sail Academy. Clare Shirk was one of
ten cadets recognized for outstanding performance based
on overall scores for everything from personal inspection and academic
test to barrack inspection and drill. Audrey Shirk was selected as the
Commander of the Troops, leading the cadets from all of the units
and states in attendance at Area 3 Leadership, CO/XO and Sail Academy.
