
During the week of November 7-11, 2022, schools are celebrating National School Psychology Week to highlight the important work school psychologists do to help students thrive. We're grateful for Ms. Lewis and Ms. Seig and their work on behalf of our students!


Paducah Tilghman football will play at Casey County High School in Round 2 of the Class 3 playoffs this Friday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. EST. Tickets will be $7.00, cash only, at the gate. Go Big Blue!


We'll have a Christmas tree in the lobby of the Paducah Innovation Hub to enjoy when students return Wednesday! We're grateful for Danny and Janice Howard, who furnished the tree, and to students from the Paducah Tilghman Pep Club & Interact Club who helped install and decorate the tree including Kiersa Atnip, Riley Darnell, Thaniel Skinner, and Peyton Toon.




All Paducah Public Schools and Paducah Head Start Preschool will be closed for students Monday, November 7, due to a high rate of influenza cases among students and staff. There will be no athletic events or extracurricular activities on Monday, November 7.
Staff will report to their buildings on Monday, November 7 for professional development.
There will be no school on Tuesday, November 8, in observance of Election Day. Classes will resume on Wednesday, November 9.

Paducah Tilghman senior Abigail Wurth made a perfect score on her Microsoft Word Certification Test. Congratulations!


The first round of the Class 3 football playoffs begins at home Friday as PTHS plays Taylor County at 7:00 PM.
There will be no livestream of the game because we have to pay a fee to broadcast games during the playoffs, so plan to be there live and in person Friday to cheer on the Tornado!

Paducah Tilghman senior Kendra Johnston placed 3rd in the country at USA Wrestling's Annual Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals held in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a first for Tilghman and the Purchase Region. Congratulations, Kendra!

Students from the Paducah Area Technical Center helped introduce area 8th grade students to career options at WKY Launch Experience at the Paducah Expo Center on October 26.
WKY Launch Experience is a career exploration expo for eighth grade students in all schools in Paducah/McCracken County school systems. More than 800 students participated and were introduced to local career options they may not be aware of in an effort to strengthen the local workforce of the future.




Members of the PTHS African American Leadership Club recently visiting Kentucky State University, a public historically black land-grant university in Frankfort, Kentucky. KSU is the second-oldest state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky.


Thanks to our student leaders from the PTHS African American Leadership Club, Student Equity Advisory Council, and Junior Board Members who helped at the Paducah Head Start Preschool Fall Festival on October 20!


At the Region 1 Cross Country meet held on October 22, PTHS senior Alicia Durfee qualified for the state Cross Country meet as an individual, and the PTHS boys team qualified as a team. Congratulations and best wishes at the state meet!

Paducah Tilghman NJROTC cadets participated in a JROTC Raider competition on October 21-22.
Raider Competitions are athletic competitions held at JROTC programs around the world. Events take place outdoors and usually consist of individual strength tests, distance team running events, first aid events, and some form of rope bridge construction/crossing.

PTHS NJROTC senior cadets Audrey and Clare Shirk, along with their parents, were honored to sail aboard the USS Constitution for her 225th birthday cruise for former and current crew and VIPs on October 21 in Boston Massachusetts.
While onboard they got to witness speeches by the VIPs, the re-enlistment of several of the Constitution’s sailors, the cannon salute, and the declaration of October 21 as USS Constitution Day.
Audrey and Clare had the opportunity to meet the head of the Defense Logistics Agency, the Vice Chief of Naval Operations (2nd in command of the Navy), and Secretary of Navy Carlos Del Toro. They also got to meet PTHS alumni Ben LeBuhn, who is currently a history major at Harvard.
