PTHS senior Jalen Polk, junior Corey Mackey, sophomore Kilee Minter, and freshman Paige Dennis are Paducah Tilghman Students of the Month for January 2022. Congratulations!
Students of the Month are selected from nominations submitted by their teachers. Here is a sampling of what their teachers said about the January 2022 Students of the Month.
Paige Dennis, 9th Grade
"Paige is always helpful and attentive in class. She has a wonderful personality and is dedicated to learning."
"Paige is a student that is always looking to go the extra mile in class. She regularly completes all of her assignments on time and at a high level, and includes others . You will always find her with a smile on her face and a positive attitude. She’s a pleasure to teach as well as be around."
Kilee Minter, 10th Grade
"Kilee is always engaged in class, and she volunteers to read and help me in other ways whenever I need it. She’s just so great to have in class."
Corey Mackey, 11th Grade
"As soon as I assign work, Corey gets started. Usually, he turns it in before class ends. If not, it is in my hands the very next day. He always has a smile on his face. He always takes notes. I could have 100 Coreys and I would have a great class."
"Corey demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to his academics. His character and work ethic are commendable. Corey is prepared for classroom activities and goes above and beyond to make sure his work is accurate and submitted on time."
Jalen Polk, 12th Grade
"Jalen is the most polite and courteous student I have ever had the pleasure of teaching. He is always on time, completes his work and does exactly what is asked of him. Not only is he like this in school but I have had a couple encounters with him outside of school as well. He went out of his way to speak and be kind to me on every occasion. Jalen is the epitome of a Tilghman Tornado."
