Mia Bobbitt

Paducah Tilghman senior Mia Bobbitt committed to play softball for Southeastern Illinois College in a signing ceremony held at Paducah Tilghman High School on March 21.

Bobbitt, a pitcher and utility player, has played softball throughout middle school and high school. So far this season, Bobbitt is 3-0 at the mound through three games.

“Being a student athlete is not a task that everyone can manage and being a college athlete is even harder,” said PTHS Assistant Coach Mallory Myers. “If you stick to it, it will make you a better person and prepare you for life in many ways that you cannot expect. I’ve already seen you do a 180 in your work ethic and I’m so grateful to have been there to help you do that.”

“Mia’s a great pitcher, and she’s resilient on the mound,” said PTHS Head Coach Mikey Myers. “She’s come back to her senior season determined to go out with a bang and I feel like she’s really doing that.”

“I’m excited to continue my journey,” Bobbitt said, “and I’m just thankful for everybody that’s been here.”
