PTHS senior Kylan Ware committed to play football at the University of Pikeville at a signing ceremony held at Paducah Tilghman High School on February 13.
Ware played outside linebacker and strong safety for three years for the Tornado, who capped off an undefeated season with a 4A State Football championship. As a junior Ware had 73 total tackles. His senior year he had 43 total tackles, one interception and one touchdown.
“I know Kylan is definitely going to go to Pikeville and represent us well not only on the football field but off the football field,” said PTHS Head Coach Sean Thompson. “Because he’s a special player and a special talent, but he’s also a special person.”
In his remarks Ware thanked his parents, his teammates and PT staff. He said he met the U of P head coach at a football camp this past summer and the coaching staff had been in contact with him since then. He anticipates getting reps at nickelback and strong safety when he arrives for football camp this summer.
“I like the campus. It’s pretty cool,” said Ware. “The whole coaching staff was very welcoming.”
