Michael “Mike” Hinton Jr. committed to play football at Lindsey Wilson College at a signing ceremony held at Paducah Tilghman High School on February 12.
Hinton played both offense and defense for the Tornado, who capped off an undefeated season with a 4A State Football championship. Playing both running back and linebacker, Hinton rushed for 358 yards and three touchdowns, while recording 76 tackles, four sacks, two fumble recoveries and an interception on defense.
“There’s not enough good words to say about Mike at all when it comes to his work ethic and his ability,” said PTHS Football Assistant Coach Bryan Qualls. “He has no quit. He has no stop and he’s all go. Lindsey Wilson is getting a tremendous player and a academically excellent student for their classroom as well.”
In his remarks Hinton thanked his teammates, his family, and his teachers for supporting him. He said that he felt good about the signing with Lindsey Wilson.
“Lindsey Wilson is a good school with good academics and good coaching,” said Hinton. “It felt like it was a good home.”
