A local summer camp is on a mission to expose students to new career paths by teaching fun and innovative classes. Thursday's lesson was on drones. The PTHS Tornado Boys Basketball Team will host their annual summer basketball camp from Tuesday, May 30th through Thursday, June 01. The camp is for any boy grades 2nd - 7th.The camp will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 10:00 a.m. for 2 - 4. The camp will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 11:30 a.m. for grades 5 - 7. The cost for camp this year is $25. Registration will be at the door on May 30.


The Lady Tornado Basketball Team will host their annual summer basketball camp from Tuesday, May 30th through Thursday, June 01. The camp is for any girl grades K-8th.The camp will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. The cost for camp this year is $30. Paducah Middle School's 8th grade promotion ceremony will be Monday, May 22, 6:00 PM at Heartland Church.


Thanks to the faculty, students, and FNB representative Crystal Balentine from Paducah Middle for their presentation about the “Amazing Shake”. "Amazing Shake" is a competition connected with the Ron Clark Academy to help students learn soft skills. We can hardly wait for next year!


Paducah Head Start Parents-
All preschool classes will resume as normal tomorrow (Monday, May 8). All maintenance issues have been resolved.

PTHS SEAC (Student Equity Advisory Council) will conduct their final forum of the year on Thursday, May 11, 5:00 PM, at Seaman's Church Institute. The forum is open to the community. The theme of the forum is “Unity in the Community.” All who plan to attend should click on the QR code to register.


Mr. Kenty was honored by the Murray State University College of Education and Human Services with the 2023 Outstanding Middle School Educator Award. The award was presented on April 25 at the Harry M. Sparks Distinguished Lecture Series. Congratulations, Mr. Kenty!


Paducah Middle seventh grader Calleigh Oldja placed second in the inaugural Western Kentucky Regional Competition of the National Civics Bee held on April 22 at the Carson Center. Seventh grader Sam Marcum also participated in the competition and advanced to the final round. To compete in the Civics Bee, students had to submit a 500-word essay on a local topic. The subject of Calleigh's essay was inequality and income discrimination. Calleigh won $500 and will advance to the state competition. Way to go, Calleigh and Sam!



Paducah Middle seventh graders Sam Marcum and Calleigh Oldja are among 20 finalists who have been selected to participate in the Western Kentucky Regional Civics Bee. The competition will take place on April 22 at the Carson Center in Paducah.
The civics bee is an initiative by the Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation aimed at encouraging more young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities.

The Paducah Tilghman Student Equity Advisory Council (SEAC) will host a student-led parent forum Tuesday, April 11, 5:00 PM at the Seaman's Church Institute, 129 South Water Street. All PPS parents are welcome. Please see the flyer for more information.


Paducah Middle students competed in the Murray State Phi Alpha Theta annual History Day competition where regional middle and high schools come to Murray State to compete for prizes in World and U.S. history. These 8th-grade students completed a 150-question examination and took 3rd place in the US History competition and Caroline Adkins finished 2nd place overall.
