Three members of the Paducah Middle School Youth Coding League (YCL) team have placed first in the Technical Merit category of the YCL competition for the fall semester. The project was created by seventh graders Sam Marcum, Marshall Hammonds and Roman Edwards, with each team member receiving a monetary award of $750.
Each team in the competition had to create a project that shows how coding could be used by a group of friends to save the world from a problem. Their project was judged by professional developers who do no work for YCL. Between the two divisions in YCL, there were 80 projects submitted.
