Paducah Public School Families,

Paducah Public Schools are committed to the health and safety of our students, staff, and their families.

Our district began the year with Level 3 COVID-19 mitigation strategies due to the surge in COVID-19 cases. Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and American Academy of Pediatrics continue to recommend masking for all students. Therefore, the Level 3 mitigation strategies will remain in place.

All students (ages preschool through grade 12), staff and visitors are required to wear a mask or face coverings that cover their nose and mouth at school, on the bus, and on district property when indoors.  This is not only for the health and safety for the welfare of our students and staff; it is also an operational decision that will allow us to continue to offer in-person instruction.

Going forward, we will continue to communicate with the Purchase Area Health Department and local health experts on the best practices for preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and community. We will continue to monitor the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics for updates.

We appreciate the support and cooperation that our students and parents have shown since school started. We pledge our best efforts to protect our students and staff while providing five days per week of in-person instruction.

For Each and Every child,

Dr. Donald Shively, Superintendent, Paducah Public Schools
